This patient is treated for pulmonary arterial hypertension with ambrisentan. The ambrisentan-tablets are taken orally at a dose of 5 mg once daily.
Warning
Ambrisentan should not be used in combination with bosentan, NO, dopamine,
dobutamin, vardenafil, tadenafil or with experimental drugs.
Volibris®
Pink square with 5mg or 10 mg ambrisentan. Ambrisentan is a selective endothelin
receptor antagonist binding to receptor A. It has been proven to reduce the pulmonary
vascular resistance, resulting in a greater cardic output at the same heart rate.
Treatment guidelines
Patients may develop abnormal liver function. Regular checking of liver function is
necessary. In case of AST or ALT greater than 3 ULN, stop treatment. Often several
medications for pulmonary hypertension are prescribed concomitantly. In case of
problems,refer to the product description of all medications to see if they result
from medication interaction, side effects or medication effects. Immediately contact
