Deze patiënt wordt behandeld voor pulmonale arteriële hypertensie met ambrisentan. De ambrisentan-tablet wordt een maal daags ingenomen in een dosering van 5 mg of 10 mg.
Waarschuwing
Ambrisentan mag niet gebruikt worden in combinatie met bosentan, NO, dopamine, dobutamine, vardenafil, tadenafil of andere experimentele medicijnen.
Ambrisentan
Roze, vierkante tablet van 5 of 10 mg ambrisentan. Ambrisentan is een selectieve endotheline-receptorantagonist (selectief voor receptor A). Het geneesmiddel heeft een bewezen gunstig effect op de pulmonale vaatweerstand, waardoor het hartminuutvolume toeneemt zonder dat de hartslag versnelt.
Behandelingsrichtlijnen
Er kunnen leverfunctiestoornissen optreden. Regelmatige controle van de leverfunctie is daarom noodzakelijk. In geval van een verhoging van ASAT en ALAT groter dan 3 ULN dient de behandeling gestaakt te worden. Bij onbegrepen verschijnselen de productbeschrijving van alle medicijnen raadplegen om na te gaan of er sprake is van medicijn-interactie, bijwerking of
medicijneffect. Bij problemen direct contact opnemen met de behandelend longarts.

Pink square with 5mg or 10 mg ambrisentan. Ambrisentan is a selective endothelin receptor antagonist binding to receptor A. It has been proven to reduce the pulmonary vascular resistance, resulting in a greater cardic output at the same heart rate.
Treatment guidelines
Patients may develop abnormal liver function. Regular checking of liver function is necessary. In case of AST or ALT greater than 3 ULN, stop treatment. Often several medications for pulmonary hypertension are prescribed concomitantly. In case of problems, refer to the product description of all medications to see if they result from medication interaction, side effects or medication effects. Immediately contact the patient’s pulmonologist in case of problems.
