General house rules
- We expect everyone to behave with respect.
- Amsterdam UMC is a smoke-free area.
- Amsterdam UMC operates CCTV surveillance.
- You may use your mobile phone, but only in designated areas. Areas where phone use is prohibited are clearly marked.
- Alcoholic drinks and the possession and use of illicit drugs are not permitted in public areas.
- If you are not an Amsterdam UMC employee, patient or student, please report first to the reception desk.
- If you are visiting a patient, you are welcome during the visiting hours of the relevant department. For the comfort of patients, usually no more than two visitors are allowed at a time.
- Parking or leaving vehicles at the premises is at your own risk. Amsterdam UMC is not responsible for damage to or theft of vehicles, bicycles, or motorcycles.
- Animals are not allowed inside the hospital buildings. Only trained assistance dogs accompanying their owner are permitted.
- Please avoid bringing valuables. Theft can occur. Store any valuables in a locker or secure cabinet.
- We follow safety and fire regulations and expect everyone to follow the safety rules.
- Visitors and external staff must follow the instructions of Amsterdam UMC security staff and other authorized employees.
- Found items should be handed in at reception. Lost property can be collected from the reception desk at the main entrance (C0).
- Employees and external personnel must clearly identify themselvers. Amsterdam UMC staff wear and display their Amsterdam UMC badge in the building at all times. External company staff must display a badge or logo. Face coverings are not allowed.
- External personnel: check with your client for specific safety rules.
Filming, photography and sound recording
If you would like to record your conversation with your doctor, please indicate this in advance. The audio recording is strictly for personal use, allowing you to review the physician's words at home for your convenience.
Video or audio recordings intended for social or other media require written approval from Amsterdam UMC's communication department. To apply for this permission, call Communications at +31 20 566 2421. Additionally, you need written consent from anyone appearing in the recording. If these rules aren't followed, we may request you to deletd the recordings. In serious cases equipment may be temporarily confiscated.
Recordings (audio and/or video), photography and their content may not be shared in any way, on any platform or medium, without authorization from the Communications department.
