Information for visitors

Please read these guidelines carefully before visiting any of our locations. These guidelines have been updated on March 23 2022.

The guidelines to minimalize the risk of infection with the coronavirus apply to all people visiting the premises:

  • Always keep 1.5 meters (60 inches or 5 feet) distance
  • Wear a medical face mask within a distance of 1.5 meters and in patient rooms
  • Don't shake hands
  • Cough or sneeze in the inside of your elbow
  • Wash your hands regularly with water and soap

Can I accompany someone to their appointment?

Patients can bring up to two companions to their appointment.

Visiting the nursing ward

  • A maximum of 2 adult visitors at the same time is allowed.

  • Visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m.

  • A maximum of 2 children under the age of 13 (accompanied by an adult) are allowed.

Visiting the intensive care unit for adults

  • A maximum of 2 adult visitors may visit at the same time.

  • For location AMC, visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m.

  • For location VUmc, visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 15:00 p.m. and from 16:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m.

  • A maximum of 2 children under the age of 13 (accompanied by an adult) can visit one are allowed.

Visiting the Obstetrics department

  • A maximum of 2 adult visitors at the same time is allowed.

  • Visiting hours are from 11.00 a.m. to 20.00 p.m.

  • A maximum of 2 children under the age of 13 (accompanied by an adult) are allowed.

Visiting the ER

  • A maximum of 2 adult visitors per patient are allowed. They may be present simultaneously.

  • A maximum of 2 children under the age of 13 (accompanied by an adult) are allowed.

Visiting the PACU/Recovery

  • Bezoekuren zijn van 19:00 uur tot 20:00 uur.

  • Maximaal 2 volwassen bezoekers zijn toegestaan. Zij mogen gelijktijdig aanwezig zijn.

  • Maximaal 2 kinderen onder de 13 jaar (begeleid door een volwassene) zijn toegestaan.

Visiting the Emma Children's Hospital

Visits may be made in consultation with the child's parents. Please keep in mind that it is important to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters.

Visiting covid patients

  • Bezoekuren zijn van 11:00 uur tot 20:00 uur.

  • Er zijn maximaal 2 volwassen bezoekers per 24 uur toegestaan. Zij moeten gelijktijdig aanwezig zijn.

  • Maximaal 2 kinderen onder de 13 jaar (begeleid door een volwassene) zijn toegestaan.

Note

You are not allowed to enter the hospital in case you:

  • have symptoms similar to those of an infection with the coronavirus (fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, cold in the nose, loss of taste and/or smell, muscle pain, general malaise, tiredness, pain behind the eyes or diarrhea), or
  • should  go into quarantine according to the rules of the GGD (for example: if someone in your household is infected with the coronavirus)
